I'm working on an idea for a sequel to 1998's Godzilla. Actually, it isn't a true sequel so much as it is another story that uses the same monster.

EDIT:

Nuclear tests spawn a giant lizard: Zilla. Zilla travels to Los Angeles to breed and goes around collecting fish to feed his spawn. Meanwhile, what seems to be a fossil is unwittingly brought to the Los Angeles Air Force Base from Mars by a team of astronauts and starts growing rapidly due to Earth's abundance of oxygen. The creature, Nemesos (that name is never actually spoken in the movie), rampages around LA, becoming an ever larger menace than Zilla. Zilla Jr. hatches and is found by hikers. After a series of battles, the humans use the Jr. to lure Zilla to LA and try to use the giant lizard to get rid of Nemesos, who is growing kaiju-sized and very oxygen-hungry. The two battle and the humans realize that the monster are fairly evenly matched. Nemesos tries to generate an earthquake to swallow Zilla, tornadoes to blow him away, and tsunamis to drown him. Zilla uses his fire-breath for the first time, albeit because of rage over Zilla Jr.'s death at the hands of a Nemesos-driven tidal wave. Nemesos also unleashes his final weapon: a lightning storm. Just then, Nemesos is peppered by bombardments from a pair of SR-91Bs (similar to the presently-classified SR-91 Aurora but with emphasis on explosive ordinance), Nemesos finally falls victim to Zilla's breath attack. The fire ignites the oxygen reserves within the alien menace and creates a prodigious explosion, elimating any doubts as to its death. Zilla then goes on one final rampage before Nemesos' lightning finishes him off.

So do you guys have any suggestions (plot-wise, etc.)?

Nah, prefer the "Queen Bitch" from the unreleased sequel.
