I had a little time free today, when I should be doing my school work, so I decided to upgrade the forum to a newer version. I would like to ask the all members of this forum to post their ideas on what the JPdb forum should look like. I want details down to text color and background...

I like the current logo, but for a whole theme, here are a few ideas for inspiration. Perhaps something that resembes Nedry's workstation (ie the island fence layout, the hack screen, "you didn't say the magic word," or even the ever-so-debatable UNIX system). Have you ever used the island? I'm sure people have done that before, but maybe just use the shot of the helicopter approaching the island and draw your color scheme for the text boxes from that. As a cruel joke you could do the Mr. DNA screen with the genetic coding whizzing past him. That will make some eyeballs bleed. Now that I think about it, these are all terrible suggestions. I leave the design decisions to you.

I think it's cool, but the white background seems a little empty; as if it's more for utility purposes than an aesthetic choice. Perhaps if you added more to the home page image. The blank space between the Ellie/Grant photo and the JP database logo is a bit awkward.

Oh! I was just putting that header there so it wouldn't say "Invision Board." I was thinking that if people stopped by they would at least know they are at the right place because the page is currently white and blue. This theme is the default Invision Board style. It's bleh.

I'm almost done with the template. I just need colors. Any ideas?

When I first loaded the page and saw that it was different, I welcomed the change, mostly because the colors were less dark than I was used to. The mb doesn't look so serious and dark now, which I think is good. Not that there was anything wrong with the old version, mind you, but it's just nice to change up a bit sometimes. So I would suggest some lighter colors instead of the darker ones that were used before, with some possible dark colors to border around the board. As for exact colors, I have no idea, sorry!

However, I hate green! But that's just me and I could live with green, so ignore that. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Nothing else is "done" right now. Let me know what you think...

Fix the white font on the light post background and its looking good. See? You don't need me to design you a theme, Jon. You did it all by yourself. Good job! *gives cookie*

P.S. I can't see what I'm typing in the reply box, the background and font are white.
