Vel wanders into the area, sniffing around. He smells the scent of blood and hears the sound of dinosaurs feasting. He investigates cautiously and comes across Slash and his pack. Looking on from the brush he tilts his head slightly, then turns off and scurries swiftly and stealthily away from the area.

Wandering the jungle, Vel walked along, slightly bobbing his head. He then stopped, smelling water. He lowered his head and snuck closer to the river nearby. There, a juvenile Ouranosaurus dunked its snout to take a drink. As Vel surveyed the situation, a thought about the juvenile's parents popped into his head. However, it quickly left his mind and he got into position. He crouched down, then sprang into the air, soaring across the river and sinking his toe claws into the herbivore's side. The Ouranosaurus called out in pain and Vel bit his jaw into its neck. After a moderate struggle, the juvenile fell to the ground nearly dead as Vel landed the final killing strike. He stood there, blood dripping from his jaw and claws. After taking a quick look around, he started eating away at the fresh carcass.

Vel barked(?) in pain as he shuffled in a circle for a moment. After realizing what had just happened, he shuffled towards one side of the circle and quickly dropped down to his stomach. The impact caused Slash to lose his grip and be tossed aside, though taking a little of Vel's flesh with him. He slid on his side towards his pack and the raptors on that side moved away to avoid being hit by him(or him getting hit on their toe claws). Taking this oppurtunity, Vel leaped over Slash and ran through the temporary gap in the circle. Taking off at full speed he bobbed and weaved through the brush. His constant wanderings had made him VERY familiar with the area, almost allowing him to keep full speed. As he ran, a thought crossed his mind about his kill. However, he knew that it wasn't worth it to take on an entire pack of raptors. Aside from that, he had taken his fill by eating quickly, and felt satisfied enough to give it up. He continued to run and disappeared into the foliage like a phantom of the jungle.
(Don't just say that they catch up. Vel's familiarity with the area would prevent that.)

As Vel heard the roar he stopped and looked around. He tilted his snout upward and sniffed the air. Quickly moving to his left he narrowly evaded the attack as a Spinosaurus crashed through the foliage, shattering the trees in its path. Vel turned to look and slowly walked backwards away from it. Recovering from the miss, the Spinosaurus slowly shuffled up from the ground, lifted then lowered its head and let out a roar that shook the immediate area. Vel then turned and ran through the foliage as he was before, eventually exiting into a clearing. Turning right after exiting, he ran parallel to the tree line as the Spinosaurus crashed through the trees in an arc away from the brush to steady its momentum. Now in an open area, it was much easier for Vel to gain full speed. In full stride he began to pull away from the Spino, as it let our a roar in frustration. Reaching maximum speed the Spinosaurus could not keep up with even half his speed and it slowed to a stop. It roared in submission as it turned and walked towards the nearby river to try to catch some fish. Vel continued running until he reached the opposite tree line, disappearing into the brush once more.
