Wow...
I'm not quite sure what to think.
It seems that there are plans to relese african wildlife onto North America's great plains to both restore America's past biodiversity, and save many of these species
from Extinction.

Here's an article in this subject:
http://slate.msn.com/id/2124714/?nav=navoa

Many of the animals being selected once roamed north america but died out during the effects of the Iceage and overhunting by early humans.

It is likely that their return to the wild won't affect native species who once lived alongside these animals anyway.
However I have to wonder what people living near these areas would think?

What do you guys think?

Yeah, that idea is total crackpot and has many many people already pointing out the very bad idea that it is.

Those animals went extinct for a reason, and reintroducing them will not only end up in most of them dying within a few years, they'll throw existing ecosystems into utter chaos. Even though they may have lived here before, they died out VERY long ago, and the animals living her now have adapted to survive without them in the food chain. And introducing a whole 'nother species into the food chain isn't something that can be done on a whim. There's a reason all these processes take millions of years. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Hmm... kinda the same thing they were arguing about in the dinner scene of JP. lol

Heh and you thought the ranchers got a little upset when they reintroduced wolves.
I doubt they'll be thrilled about adding lions. hehe.

Then I'd kick back, watch CNN talk about what a horrible idea it was and watch humans fend off attacks from animals they never expected to deal with!

Scudworth: I first got the idea for Cloney Island after seeing the movie Jurassic Park 3! But my ill-concieved amusement park will be filled with human clones instead of zoo animals! It's as fool-proof as the amusement park in the movie it's self!
