Yes, we have no fricking idea if it's official. It's just stupid to trust unconfirmed word when the filmmakers have barely spoken at all. It could be made up. Hell, I once made a logo using nothing more than Paint and it looked quite damned good. This thing does seem very, very, very fishy indeed, so I won't trust it. But it does look like those early posters. Still, even if it is real, it's still a very early concept. The final logo would most likely be different.
The logo still looks alright. Great job from the one who made it, whoever that may be.

Just to correct you, it says 2006.
I, if anyone, would be happy to see the old Spitter return. There is an explanation for it's inaccuracy too. The dinosaurs of Jurassic Park should be accurate enough, true, but I also think that, because they're fictional, the filmmakers should take atleast some liberties. They did make the Pteras have teeth so I'd say that they can safely keep the Dilo's venom spitting ability. It is, after all, one of Michael Crichton's brainchilds, and the movies are based around the books, so (let's assume)it is possible for a genetically engineered Dilophosaur to create a venomous fluid in it's stomach from eaten food and regurgitate that on it's next meal(also scientifically plausible when looking at the defense methods of some sea birds)

Remember, in the book they were trying to find the source for the venom but had turned out with nothing. I think (and reminding that this is just a theory)that a genetic altering of the genes caused a mutation(remember that some frogs generate poison to their skin) and, thanks to that, the Dilo's stomach content's would mix with the venom that the stomach creates and, knowing that theropods are more closely related to birds, would be able to puke it on the enemy or prey on long distances and with small bursts to spare more of it for repeated attacks as the situation demands.
They could explain it similarly in the movie. Still, we don't know if that poster is real. The script certainly looks incomplete with only few pages.

Now, in the First and Second movie, the T-rex basically took care of the films. The Third film, the Spino took care of it...
Have you people noticed that these dinos are BIG...
Now, why the heck would you suddenly put the Spitter as the main threat? Ok, sure so its got enough to scare you and all..., but (like someone stated before) it's one of the most inaccurate dinosaurs in the JP films. I wouldn't mind seeing the spitter back in the films ( real sized spitters ), but ask yourself..., what good does it do to put a dinosaur like THAT as your main logo and main dinosaur...?!
Geez..., might as well go on and put a Compy or a Brachy on the logo... /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="<_<" border="0" alt="dry.gif" />

No offense, but I'm getting sick and tired of this super predator cr@p. I mean, as cool as the Spino looks, it didn't really work as a perfect replacement for the Rex to the puplic, now did it? JP3, even though fairly succesful, produced the least amount of money in the franchise this far. And I suspect the reason for that is that it only offered us the same old sh*t in a cliched plate and with all the typical monster movie cliches that Jurassic Park should be different from. So I say skip the whole "big bad predator" stuff, knowing that they won't have the T-Rex either, and concentrate on the smaller, but still "big enough to be called bad" theropods, like the adult Dilophosaurus. The real one would about the size of the Ceratosaurus from JP3 and, in packs, and when packing the venom spitting ability, they are a force to be reckoned with, even for Raptors.
