If Jurassic Park ever happened....

Could Jurassic Park ever really happen? How much of what you saw in Jurassic Park can be considered real? Discuss all of that and more here...

we always seem to agree and wind up saying the same thing
When all is said and done and the world is empty how much does it really matter the amount of money you had or what car you drove?

There was also a higher level of O2 in the air 65 million years ago. It is siad by Henry Wo if you read the book. I liked the boos better then the movies.

QUOTE why??
Because there is always some sort of flaw in your answer/question that you people never look closely at...

True.

That was in the book-- which can always be partly fictional..., we're looking for facts...

QUOTE "instincts I think will play a major role in behaviour of an organism like dinosaur.if you look at crocs the mother croc don't teach their children how to hunt, how to behave and so on.i think it will be the same with dinosaurs also "
There is a difference between the 2...
Instincts are things that drive you to your own natural survival in the wild and such. Behavior though, is something that can only be there if it is raised properly-- for best results you'd need a parent and also the presence of elders (which would act as a rolemodel on how to act properly). I hope I don't have to keep going on and on about this, you people are thick and don't get a point when I mention it once....
man this is SO annoying...

...what about the dinosaurs that are regarded as warm blooded? I mean, we're not 100% sure if all dinosaurs can be classed off in the reptilian group. Even though they carry reptile-like characteristics, some MIGHT not be reptiles...
I think that at least some dinos will be teaching their own young, this is because many warm blooded creatures today do this. If some dinos were in fact warm blooded, there is still a chance that they did do this.
Even if they were cold blooded, it wouldn't change my point much. If you look at some modern day reptiles... you'll find that there is a small group which will dedicate its time to looking after its young, raising its young, protecting its young and so on.
These things DONT always have to come from teaching their young, they come from the discipline and presence of the elders being there. There is also no term of repect there either.

QUOTE Very true, although maybe some of the pack hunters might need to learn a few things but that's teachable by humans if we were to enforce a hieracrchy on the first generation then they would do the same thing all the way down the line. It may not be the same as what is was when they were actually alive but it'll work for them to survive now
Survivial is something that only happens if a living organism is adapted to its enivironment well. When you said this point of yours. You wrote it without much thinking. You are intertwining several 'theories' or 'points' together. If you're doing this, then you must consider them carefully and suitablly.
Humans may be able to teach a few things, but do you think that some human could be able to teach a T-rex how to hunt if it were orphaned in the wild? If you then, put it into an enivoronment with another T-rex which was raised naturally by its parents... well, guess what??! There's going to be an obvious difference isn't there?
And supposed these 2 T-rex's had a fight? Well, the one rasied naturally is going to beat the living crap out of it because it would know what to do...
So, instinct or not... theres going to be a difference...

Moving on, you said something without thinking... "if we were to enforce a hieracrchy on the first generation then they would do the same thing all the way down the line. It may not be the same as what is was when they were actually alive but it'll work for them to survive now "....
Well, if thats how the generations are going to be... what would be the point of studying them if they're acting different from the dinos of the past?...
