A director wish list? How peculiar.

I don't know why people hate Johnston that much. He did a great job with what he had. He really did a good job in the actual direction aspect of the production. The problems in the movie all happened long before things got filmed, probably before Johnston was the definite director.

Didn't JP3 basically start filming without a completed script?

They had a script with all the major scenes, and then filler. The filler just didn't work out, and they made changes during production (that's where the Sam Neil/William H. Macy scenewriting came about). It's silly to think that they started filming without a script; it's just not done, especially on huge budget movies like JP3.

James Cameron , with movies like Aliens, the Abyss & T-2 under his belt....

But the most obvious would be Joe Johnston who, like ChanceKell said, did a great job with what he had.

I would ahve to say Michael Crichotn. he is a proven director and he should have the right too. I won't the movies to go back to the sciences and stuff.

Michael Crichton? A proven director? Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great writer and idea-maker, but he's no director. He's only made six movies, most of which are thrillers of some kind, the last one back in 1989. (And none of them were that impressive, except maybe the Great Train Robery.) What makes you think he could created a high-budget, high-profile, technology-driven movie like JP4?
