Is it just a personal fault that you can't help, or are you addicted to the thrill of stirring things up? Try to enjoy the board and accept the fact that not everyone can share your opinions because there is no right or wrong answer instead of being a dick. In case it isn't clear, I don't care about your "logic", so give it up.
Wow, a little hostile aren't we? I was merely expressing my opinion, there's no need for you to jump down my throat about it. These people have a right to say what they want, and a right to think freely. I'm not saying they're wrong, I'm saying I don't agree with it.

But it's a waste of time to respond to you, since I'm a dick and don't deserve an explanation.
Chaotic_Baryonyx wrote:F*ck that. I'll enlist if it's a cause I believe in. If I haven't enlisted, it's not a cause I believe in, therefore I will not go even if I'm drafted. It'll just end up with me getting court marshall'd because I refuse to carry out an order I don't agree with.

Drafting for good causes might sound like a good idea superficially, it's not. It merely sounds like one. Who will decide if it's a good enough cause to draft for? Those corrupt military muttonheads all over the western governments today? You're forgetting that different people have different opinions. Bush said going to war in Iraq was a good cause, I thought it was and still is fecking bullshit.

Then there's also the fact that drafting takes freedom away. You're not defending your freedom, you're being used as a shield.

In short, think before you spout such patriotic garbage in our faces.
So drafting those who wouldn't have fought otherwise in World War II was all for naught, right? It didn't help in achieving victory over an undeniable evil, right?

If a war comes down to a draft, it means that either:
A. You can have a few freedoms taken away temporarily when required to fight
or
B. You can have all of your freedoms taken away forever if the enemy prevails.

If you really want to avoid the draft you can always become a pacifist or apply for conscientious objector status.

And you really thought that Saddam posing a threat and being an enemy was "........ bullshit?" You do know that nuclear materials have been found in Europe that can be traced to Iraq, that there was an IED in Iraq armed with Sarin gas? That the guy (whatever his name was) that accused Bush of lying about Iraq trying to acquire uranium from Africa has just published a new book in which he now backs up Bush's claim?

Not to mention the 9-11 murals, funding of terrorists, and the gassing of the Kurds.

Once again, I'm not saying you don't have a right to say what you want. I'm just disagreeing.

And knowing this board, I'll be banned for it.

If it weren't so obnoxiously critical, I wouldn't have taken so much offense as to respond harshly. I'm not going to play mind games. I made my response, and I sound like a jackass, but I make no apologies for taking something in way that is reflective of what is projected. No skin off my nose tonight.

That's hardly the attitude.
Not everyone has the balls to go join the army and fight. Some people would be more useful back at home.

Committing to the war effort on the home front is still a form of fighting, in the sense that it backs up the combatants. What I dislike are "freeloaders" and cowards.
