I dunno..but it doesn't seem like that paragraph needed much thought. I mean, we're taught to think about those things all through elementary school, and I'm almost positive that I've heard a teacher or documentary say almost the exact same thing(with proper grammar and spelling of course).

no my teachers never say any thing about any of that stuff except for the there might be life on other planets.

Either way, we're still taught to think about all of those things. Whether it be from school, or other venues such as documentaries. Your teachers may not say that exact same thing, but they still teach you to think about it.
