Yeah, what's the point in making a Jurassic Park style movie when we already have a Jurassic Park?

i'm not saying make it identical, i'm just saying that there has to be something in there that connects it to the others...like a mood or theme or something...

Overall JP3 was just less inventive than the others, the reason it's my least favourite, but that doesn't make it an impossibly bad film. It's entertaining, the reason some people prefer it over the others(though not the original, because then they would be just out of their fricking mind). TLW is almost as inventive as the first film but also has some problems, one being that it rips off older classic movies(Arthur Conan Doyle, King Kong) in hopes of quick cash(which it did get in a form of 200 million). Still, they aren't the worst things I've seen and I will keep atleast TLW in my DVD collection. The first JP, however, will remain with me to the end of my life.

And that's why these sequels are nothing compared to the one and only Jurassic Park. It simply has a bigger symbolic value, being inacccurate or not. It changed my life, not the sequels. Take them as you wish.

well, it was Crichton who decided to use The Lost World as a title(if that's what you mean about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle)

which part was like King Kong? was it the San Diego scene?

I think he means the whole 'lets trap a dinosaur and bring it to the city for all to see' thing. (hunters plot)

It both happens in Conan Doyle's TLW and King Kong, but it the former, it just an innocent pterosaur (if i remember well)

Spielberg makes a clear reference with the fact that it brings back a T-rex to San Diego resembles to King Kong. The name of the S.S. Venture is the same one as that of the boat which brings back the big primate to New York.

It should not be forgotten that a T-rex wandering in the city is also, obviously, like the Godzilla films. One can see people of Japanese origin who says (It's what I read somewhere) in their language: "I have left Tokyo for this reason!", or something like that.

i see

actually, the scene where they are running and they say "this is why i left Tokyo!" was from Inspector Gadget. in TLW is seems more like they're just screaming.
