Man, coming from JUST finishing Congo, I seriously believe that a Mokele-Membe-type creature is possible. I'm not going to say that Mokele-Membe is a sauropod left over from eons ago, but something of that sort.

Ahh the Mokele....I once scoured Google for hours looking for information on that and the Kasai Rex...I think I still have most of it saved, but that's on my comp that's currently dead.

I originally belived it too but then I saw this sPecial on the Discovery channel talking about how those rainforests are not as old as we first thought. And Mokele mbembe is more likeley to be a Rhinoceros then a sauropod /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Yeah, that's been speculated as well...about the jungles, though, surely that's not all of them...

Ah, this debate isn't about the facts! ;D<br /><br />Anybody ever hear of the Patterson/Gilman footage. Y'know, the one where &quot;bigfoot&quot; is seen casually strolling through an open part of the forest? Most write this off as a guy in a suit. But what those people don't know is the fact that computer analysis of the tape shows huge, bulging muscles under the &quot;skin&quot; of the &quot;creature.&quot; Suits that resemble this couldn't be built back when this footage was shot. Also, notice the way Mr. Foot moves his arms and legs. It's scientifically impossible to move your arms that far from your resting position.<br /><br />What about the supposed tracks? Well, if you think that these things were made by guys who cookie-cut their snow shoes, you thought wrong. Most tracks were made in dry tempature, and some on clay ground. Somebody had to push down incredibley hard to make a footprint as deep as these are. Only a very strong man could do it with his hands.<br /><br />How come we never see a Bigfoot carcass? Have you ever seen a bear carcass on TV? Chances are you haven't. You never find dead animals laying all over the ground in an area with a large ecosystem. The body would be eaten by scavengers and could decompose due to all the dead foliage. Biologists have also molded what some cryptozoologists believe to be an imprint left by a dead yeti.<br /><br />Bigfoot, in my opinion, is very, very real.

Oh well...<br /><br />Ya know it's funny I never brought up the Bigfoot sPecial they aired a day or 2 after this thread was born. This one finger print analyst exPert looked at some of the tracks, and was blown away by the detail an, um, I think they were caled &quot;Imprint Ridges&quot; or something. The lines moved in a different way then Any primates did. He said the chances of somebody making these (esPecially in the 60s) were next to nothing. Then he was shown a pair of tracks from 200 miles away with the exact same details. That made them being fake even less likely.
