Uni boning up for 'Jurassic 4'<br />Thu Nov 7, 2:27 AM ET<br /><br /><br />By Zorianna Kit <br /><br /><br />LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) --- Universal Pictures is going forward on a fourth installment of its &quot;Jurassic Park&quot; franchise and is making a deal with scribe William Monahan to write the script. <br /><br /><br />The story is being kept under wraps, but Steven Spielberg (news) and Kathleen Kennedy are back on board producing. <br /><br /><br />The first installment of the franchise grossed $356.7 million domestically, with the sequel grossing $229.1 million. &quot;Jurassic Park III,&quot; released in 2001, grossed $181.2 million domestically. <br /><br /><br />Spielberg directed the first two installments, with Joe Johnston taking the reins on the third. As of yet, no director is on board the fourth film, which is being overseen by production president Mary Parent and production vp Tim O'Hair. <br /><br /><br />Monahan, repped by Broder Webb Chervin Silberman, previously wrote 20th Century Fox's historical drama &quot;Tripoli&quot; for director Ridley Scott (news), with Russell Crowe (news) attached to star. He is also working with Scott on an untitled 11th century Crusades drama.

I was wondering that myself Dinosaur Neil. I thought Spielberg wanted him and Michael Chriton to scrpit it.

Perhaps they were just busy or speilberg wanted to try a different approach with someone new...

I'm slightly dissapointed that Crichton does'nt seem to be involved... I say let him and Steven land the final film - finish what they started.

I at least hope Steven will contribute a lot more compared to JP3 where he rarely showed up...

Eh...JP3 sucked so JP4 just might suck even more.
