/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> can somebody please tell me what happened to the crew of the s.s.venture, because it is really bugging me now!

Simple.
The evil aura cast off by something as terrible and vicious as a T.rex is able to tear hapless victims apart from a distance. Sort of like a projectile weapon that can pass through solid metal. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
Seriously, though, it's just a screwup in the script. Nothing worth fretting over. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I've never read an official explanation but we can only assume that the explanation was cut from the final film, or left there to make people talk & to possibly feed idea for JP3 (which did mention the San Diego incident but not the boat issue).
My take: I think Spielberg was inferring that raptors were on the ship. After all, that was a main plot point in the original Jurassic Park novel, that the ship shouldn't land because raptors had stowed away on the ship & only the people on the island knew it. Somewhere along the way Speilberg forgot to explain it, though!

I...still say it was just a scripting/effects fuckup with no significance whatsoever. They had to make the ship seem ravaged by the T.rex, even if the way in which it was ravaged defied explanation.

one of my friends thinks that raptors were onboard and that they turned some of the crew into sushi and dived on the surviving crewmembers knocking them and the raptors overboard.
My Take: i think that the explaination should'nt have to be asked for
