Is it time to give up and admit defeat? Is it possible that JP4 is stuck in development hell, with a crazy script, no director, and a uninterested Steven Spielberg? Sam Neill seems to think so, if a gossip column on an Australian website is to be believed. According to an email newsletter, while attending the Logie Awards last night, a "well-oiled" Neill "ruled out a possibility of a Jurassic Park 4" in-between making political comments and presenting an award. Is Sam speaking the truth, or just trying to get into the papers? You decide! The Logies, by the way, are Australia's version of the Emmy. (Thanks Matt and 'jurassiraptor')

Sam Neil, would he be willing to disapoint fans? You ask yourselves that folks! Sam, lives in the South Island of my Country (NZ), owns a Wine Farm, and happily lives there. He seems like a pretty cool guy, if you ask me. He's pretty nice too. Would he dare disapoint us? Would Steven Speilburg dare do that to us?

Now, I've heard the few rumors about him. And that JP4 is stuck in production. Hopefully,the rumors aren't true. But now think about it... if WE all gave them a little bit of encouragment, just think how much it would influence them. I'm sure that they, the crew and cast members, don't realise that here, in cyber space, we strange JP fans are all logging onto this wondeful website and going nuts about the whole Jurassic Park thing. I think its about time that we make them realise that they have made us fans and that they have influenced our lives with JP. Sam Neill Confirms Jurassic Park IV
The dino flick starts shooting next year.

July 11, 2003 - Sam Neill is definitely returning for Jurassic Park IV, the actor told Australia's The Sunday Mail over the weekend. Neill's character, Alan Grant, survived encounters with dinosaurs in both the original Jurassic Park and in Jurassic Park III.


Neill has been hinting that he might play the paleontologist's role one more time, since the script Spielberg had developed was so interesting. Apparently, Spielberg went back to Michael Crichton's source material, using unfilmed scenes from the novel and continuing with the idea that dinosaurs had escaped to mainland Costa Rica. According to Neill, Spielberg had a "clever idea" that would allow both Grant and Jeff Goldblum's character, Ian Malcolm, to return.

And with filming a year or so away, Neill says he's getting excited about the prospect. "I don't like to count my chickens before they hatch, but I think this will exceed expectations. I'm looking forward to it, actually."

There's no word yet on whether Jeff Goldblum has signed on yet. Spielberg plans to begin shooting in 2004 in California and Hawaii. Expect the film to hit theaters in 2005.

That thing is apparenty supposed to be a hoax...

I'm not really taking this news too seriously because its still not exactly confirmed that he said this and plus the 'Stan Winston Talks Jurassic Park IV' has two good sources and came out a little earlier than this one.
