It feels strange to go back and watch the original Star Wars trilogy now. I just think to myself "Oh yeah, so this is what it's like to watch a good Star Wars movie."

What happened to the excellent painted covers ala Episode I? Blardsrgh, fugly DVD cover. I'll pickup the 6 disc box set, but I really want my Original Trilogy DVD set .. when George Lucas realizes he can make more money and please his fans at the same time.

hey yeah, the artsy stuff looks a lot better. they painted the original trilogy and episode one....sounds like someone's rushing these DVDs into market /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> seeing as before Episode II DVDs took a year to come out

then again all they have to do is take the poster and print it on the cover /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="<_<" border="0" alt="dry.gif" />

hey i was wondering...

does anyone know how to alter a picture to have the texture of a painting...

for example, something like the Star Wars posters, and that picture of Obi-Wan and Anakin fighting on the DVD cover up there..

anyone know how to do this? can it be done in Photoshop?(i've been trying different filters but nothing works the right way)

About the art, no Video or DVD from the prequels has never featured Drew Struzan's paintings in the covers, unfortunately. Just the Soundtracks do.

Yeah it can be done. It something to do with Masks and transparency I think.
