Jurassic Park db forum

Now, I know that this may tick some of you off, but after hearing about how Steven Spielberg disliked TLW(which I completely understand now) and presumably made a "great idea" of genetically altered soldier dinosaurs for JP4 to be written by William Monanahan and John Sayles, I have been wondering if he actually has an issue with the whole trilogy(including disrespect for JP1 for letting the sequels to be made). And, before you think I've lost my mind, no, I don't think I'm hallucinating. There has been something seriously wrong with making these films since 1997 and I'm finally letting my thoughts to be known. There's just something that differs, that's all. Does anybody else have similar suspicions? Am I the only one? /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh:" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />

i don't know about what they've been saying. i didn't know he had any problems with any of them.

Or meaby, just meaby, he simply lost his mind, invented the horrible JP4 premise, and then put an end to this whole thing, just like he should. Still, he didn't show much interest for being part of JP3's production, only showing up once. Meaby I'm blaming the wrong tree. It could have just as well been the studio. I mean, I bet they were behind Spielberg's boredom with TLW, being the ones who wanted to make a sequel, not Spielberg, only luring him to direct so it would sell better. All in all it's Universal to blame. Hell, that's what it is! It was Universal that wanted those films, not Spielberg, the reason he's not involved anymore(because he grew tired of it). Still, if the "great idea" for the fourth one really was true, then my suspicions about Spielberg losing his mind may be correct.

I don't believe that the idea of the mutant slodiers dinosaurs came from Spielberg. Surely from Sayles which had made a demonstration script. I hope.

As far as I remember, it was said that the idea came from Spielberg. Still, even if it didn't, he still approved the "Nick Harris" script. That is, if he was involved in it's making at all.

I never heard that. Particulary the part where he approved the worst script in the cinema history. But we have any proof of that.

He said it was "the best idea since the first movie". Now, this means that he either approved the script, or the article was a fake. I actually bet at the second possibility.

Ah, that rumor. Maybe that he wanted to talk about another idea, and Sayles sent this script to him, idea that he proposed to Spielberg before and Steven said to him: "Make me a script to see what that gives".

If not, I take the second possibility.

maybe Speilberg had a great idea, but then told someone to write a story for it and it got morphed along the way.

I luv the whole rex in the waterfall idea. Spinosaur would be more fitting for that scene. And the Raptor attack on camp???? WHY WAS'NT IT MADE!?!?!!? /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> That would have been so friggin cool.
