You know, I never really liked the LOTR trilogy, but I could at least respect the fact that Peter Jackson made the films so long to please fans. He wanted to stay true to the book, okay that was fine. But he's crossed the line this time. According to movies.com, King Kong has a run time of 3 hours. 3 hours of King Kong! WTF?!! Why would you stretch the simplest plot in the world to 3 hours? I swear this movie is going to make "The Hulk" look good.

Well the way I see it is that to judge a movie you have to see it first, not by how long it is. I am not a LOTR fan either, but we'll just have to see how this ends up...

Yeah, I've seen the trailer. I'm not too impressed by it.
Yes, you're right, B.J.B. I shouldn't judge it until I see it. But my gut feeling tells me that this is going to drag on forever. I mean, how much detail can you possibly put into a story about a giant gorilla that goes on a rampage in New York City? I bet that Peter Jackson made Kong into a soap opera. I wouldn't be surprised if King Kong doesn't make his first appearance until 1 hour and 35 minutes into the film.

I'm excited its three hours, that leaves more time for more dinosaurs (hopefully). Afterall Kong is suppose to face something like three T-Rexes throughout the film.

I'm happy to learn that King Kong is going to have a three hours running too. I think that we will be happily surprised from what he will be able to put. Yes, I'm optimistic...

Well, the way I see it, no film should have a running time over 2 hours and 20 minutes unless it's a biopic. Kong is an action-adventure film, to give it a 3-hour length just sucks all the fun out of it. It should be exciting and up-tempo, not slow and moody. Which is exactly the approach I think Jackson will take; slow and moody.

Yeah Yeah Specifics specifics. If anybody has taken a little at the book The World of Kong, theres plenty of nasty crittters that could pop up to fill in three hours. Such things as ten foot spiders, 12 ft maggots, and giant flying rats. Sounds awesome to me, and I doubt it will feel like 3 hours. Hell the extended version of Return of the King is like 4 hours and it breezes by like nothing, though the epilogue did drag a bit.

This is going to be the biggest kaiju-fest of a movie. It may just surpass G:FW.
Minus the Mothra, of course. :|
