A 4-foot lizard crawls along a short wooden fence. The crack of a twig is heard in the brush and the lizard freezes. At that moment, Vel launches out of the foliage and sinks his toe claws into the lizard, taking that part of the fence down as well and breaking it into pieces. He drags the carcass away from the fence and then eats away while occasionally looking around to survey the area. Once there is almost nothing left he stands upright and looks toward the center of the compound. A strange but familiar scent emanates from deeper in the laboratories. He disregards this as another thought crosses his mind and he scurries off into the brush.

*As Vel re-enters the area, he picks up the scent he smelled that last time he was here. He takes a minute to let it register, and then slowly walks closer. As he walks, lightly bobbing his head, he surveys the area. No danger so far. He continues walking and then stops. He lifts his snout towards the sky and takes in a deep breath. Then he lowers his head to face the laboratories and he just stares straight ahead at them.
