SOAP is good, bad, and overrated. It's only good because of that BMF we all know and love /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Tell me 5 reasons why it was sooooooooooooo bad, I didn't think it was amazing but it was worth seeing.

Okay, you want 5 reasons, here we go:

1. Over-used slapstick, sure, the Zanuck brother's are great at writing slapstick. However, comedic violence is best in small doses. Scary Movie 4 really went into overkill with "kid-friendly" slapstick and prop-comedy. After a while, it felt as if I was watching a bad episode of Looney tunes.

2. Poor production values; it seems as if half-way through the film's production, they switched from 35mm film cameras to piss-poor Hi-8 video tape. This decline in camera quality is especially noticeable during the War of The Worlds night sequence parody.

3. Random pop-culture b.s. that doesn't relate to scary movies; for example, Tom Cruise's Oprah freak-out. Talk about a lame and pointless scene. How many parodies had we seen of that in the months prior to Scary Movie 4? I can't even count.

4. Dr. Phil, and Shaq in the intro scene. This opening actually had potential to be funny, however, the Zanuck brothers chose the easy thing to do and turned the scene into a joke about Shaq's free-throw shooting. Yes, Shaq sucks at shooting free-throws, we've known that for a decade now.

5. The Million Dollar Baby parody, where did that come from? Not only was it pointless, it just seemed totally out of place.

But the movie is supposed to be stupid funny and somewhat pointless. Stop looking for the little errors and just watch the movie.

I'm not looking for them, it just so happens that I'm a film major, and I can't help but notice these things. It's okay for a movie to be dumb, but if it's going to be dumb, I should at least be able to get a good laugh out of it. I couldn't even get a chuckle watching Scary Movie 4.

GASP!?!?!

OMGJONJUSUKS!!!!!

Yeah it was funny, but in my opinion the movie failed expectations for me. All my friends were like "IT IS THE BEST OMG BALLS!!!" Woo hoo, Sacha Baron Cohan's balls for fifteen minutes (atleast it seemed like fifteen minutes).

And Scary Movie 4 was just too much of the same cliched material. Like Pack Raptor mentioned, Tom Cruise and Oprah again?

edit: Oops misspelled "Baron"
