‘Jurassic Park IV’ not in casting process
Recent reports on the ‘Net have stated that the long-awaited, highly anticipated and hotly debated “Jurassic Park IV” is moving forward into the casting process. While this rumor has re-ignited fan interest and discussion (never a bad thing), the rumors turn out to be completely unfounded as per multiple, separate sources associated directly with the production.

Steven Spielberg’s personal reps at Amblin Entertainment (co-producers of the “Jurassic Park” franchise) have told SpielbergFilms.com that casting has not commenced on the film, as the story and screenplay are still in development. While there’s been talk over the years with series stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and most recently, Laura Dern, the property is still not ready to move forward toward production and no casting is taking place.

The good news is that the film is still in development, but it’s not near the point that these rumors would have it. Steven Spielberg is of course currently hard at work filming the latest chapter in his other beloved franchise, “Indiana Jones IV.” At last public comment, producer Frank Marshall said that serious attention will turn to “Jurassic Park” as soon as Spielberg’s camp has put the finishing touches on the new Indy film. Whether or not this will hold at that time remains to be seen, but for now, take heart in knowing that they’re still working on bringing “Jurassic Park IV” to eager audiences."

I'm liking the fact that the "personal reps" are still saying the project is in development. We're not dead yet!

That has to be the best thing I've heard all year.
