Alien Life Forms

Could Jurassic Park ever really happen? How much of what you saw in Jurassic Park can be considered real? Discuss all of that and more here...

I believe that aliens do exist, but i don't believe they've ever been to Earth.

I believe that aliens are a manifestation within our own minds. A feeble attempt at creating the facade of an enemy... to hide from ourselves the fact that we have no enemy greater then the enemy that we face within ourselves.

Granted though, most people who believe in extraterrestrials like to believe that they would be friendly.

It's kind of silly to think that we are the only planet with complex organisms when the universe is endless.

I posted the same thing on another topic but I can't find it so I guess I'll repeat my self and give a mor thorough reason for Mr. DNA. In the universe there are ... galaxies. In each galaxy will probabely be at least... solar systems. Thus ... planets. So there will be more planets we could possibly imagine. Therefore you can imagine that one planet will have all the requirements to support some bits of life at the least. So even if its microscopic they're still aliens.
And not all life must thrive on the same components we do. Some life can thrive on helium (random)! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

even if there were aliens, there would be no way for them to reach us. Even if they could get here, it would take many many many many many generations

I suppose by modern scientific theories that's correct. I'd have to do some remedial research before I make any assertions, though. Either way, we don't know for sure. For all we know, they might not even be interested in us, our planet, solar system, or even our galaxy. Who's to say?

edit: grammar
"You sharpen the human appetite to the point where it can split atoms with its desire; you build egos the size of cathedrals; fiber-optically connect the world to every eager impulse; grease even the dullest dreams with these dollar-green, gold-plated fantasies, until every human becomes an aspiring emperor, becomes his own God... and where can you go from there?" "And as we're straddling from one deal to the next, who's got his eye on the planet, as the air thickens, the water sours, and even the bees' honey takes on the metallic taste of radioactivity? And it just keeps coming, faster and faster. There's no chance to think, to prepare; it's buy futures, sell futures, when there is no future." - John Milton

Yea. And, most people seem to think aliens come and greet us.. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="<_<" border="0" alt="dry.gif" /> But, why would they travel from galaxy to galaxy JUST to say in their language "hello, NOW do you know you're not alone?" Thats just stupid...

Anyways, I DO believe they exsist, but not those in the books. I mostly picture them as the aliens in "Independence Day", the 1993 blocbuster film.
