Exactly ... he's also the writer of Spider-man, Panic Room, the writer/director of Secret Window, writer of The Shadow, and the writer of Mission: Impossible. But most people never even heard of him.

I wouldn't say Koepp deserves any major recognition. He's not that good.

And I don't think Burton is that good. His movies are dark! Oh wait, I mean the LIGHTING is dark. But he makes up most of his movies himself, and they're hugely imaginative.

If there's one visionary director, it'd be David Fincher.

Okay, I don't think David Koepp is a great writer, but a good one. I think he did a good adaptation of Micheal Chrichton's novel, and that's a tough thing to do, making a good adapted script from a novel is a tough task because there is so many elements of the book that go in great depth, as a screenplay writer you have to condense 300+ pages of a novel into 2 hours. But my main point is that screenplay writers get no recognition, credit, or fame for their achievements in film. People act like they don't exist, and give the actors and directors all the acclaim. The screen play writers come up with the story, without a story a director has nothing to film. In the case of David Koepp I can see why he gets little credit for Jurassic Park, because it wasn't his idea. But when a screen play writer makes a very good story that is their own idea, they should get plenty of credit for their work. Instead of being treated like they're invisible.

Point well taken. But how many director's are you familiar with compared to how many writers you are familiar with? I can think of about 10 directors off of the top of my head, and l only4 or 5 writers.

No, the movies changed his Jurassic Park. Last I heard he didn't want involvement with future Jurassic Park productions anyway.

I love Tarantino's work but I just couldn't possibly imagine him doing a Jurassic Park movie. Unless he left the style out and showed the simple rawness of what Jurassic Park could be. I wouldn't mind more blood but just leave the ninjas out of it.

Actually, Jurassic Park needs ninjas right about now. Unless Spielberg pulls off a Jesus-scale miracle, JP4's already a lost cause without something totally random to spice it up.
