Have any of you guys noticed that weather patterns have been very unusual as of late. This entire summer, out at the Badlands, we had a whole one week of seering heat in the 120s. Usually heat levels that high make up the whole of July and August. But for some reason, its been increasingly stormy around here. Very strange.

A few people are attributing this strange weather change to a polar shift, which is basically a time when North and South Pole flip flop. It's been recorded in the geologic record as happening regularly, so its a very real possibility, but think of what would happen if they did flip. There would probably be some sort of global Electro-Magnetic Pulse that would destroy all electronics. Compasses would flip flop and even if there wasn't an EMP, plane navigational systems wouldn't function correctly anymore.

Or, this could all be wild speculation by me and others. I'll let you decide. I was mostly curious to see if you guys have heard anything about this yourselves, or if this is something that's going around the scientific circles only right now.

it was pretty much based on fact but even Denis said there wasnt anyway in hell that it could only happen in 3 days. more like 3 - 100 years of ice age. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I found out about this a while back, but it doesn't necessarily worry me. I like storms anyway. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

La Nina? lol! I donno the weather has been pretty constant and I didn't notice any change. Except for a few hurricanes that were making their way near us-- brought in some storms here and there.

OW! Justin my head! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I've been noticing the same actually. Weather has been really cool here like lower 70s with low humidity at times, then up in the 80s with very high humidity, and then really bad storms like tonight which interrupted my Stargate viewing and thus permanently placed me in a pissed off mood at least until I choose to go to bed or something. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

It also makes me wonder what the winter is going to be like this year. Speaking of horrid weather disaster films, anyone ever read that Pentagon paper that talks about this stuff? I think it was the basis for "The Day After Tomorrow" film.

Personally I feel we're having wacky weather because of all those explosions going off in the Middle East. It makes you wonder what adverse effects it could have on the environment. Magnets work too...
