I absolutely love the rexes roar. To me it gives me the full impression of a predator with a great might as it bestows fear and an immeasurable amount of amazement in viewers ears. ahh...i love the Rex roar...but i can't help but be annoyed by the overuse of it in other places. i think the first time i really gave any notice to it was when i heard it come from the beetle in "A Bug's Life." that really annoyed me and i realized how much it's used everywhere.
the thing is, sure, WE know where it's from, but what about the kids who see these other things first, and then go see Jurassic Park and start sayin, "oo it's the beetle from a bug's life!!!" or "hey they stole the sound from my favorite cartoon!!!"
anyway, that sound has always given me chills, and i got a special feeling of pride when i heard the roar of my first bred Tyrannosaurus Rex in my Operation Genesis park...ah yes...that roar's got some memories....
