A POSSIBLE SYNOPSIS

65 million years ago, a terrible disease plauged the Earth which brought about the extinction of the dinosaurs. In the early eighties, when InGen cloned the dinosaurs, they also brought this disease back with them and it has been present ever since before Jurassic Park (thus explaining the sick Triceratops and Brachiosaur). Now this disease has become fully active in the dinosaurs and they're all getting very ill. When dinosaur carcasses start washing up on the shore of Costa Rica, a team (including Alan Grant) is called out to find out what's going on. They head to the islands to study the dinosaurs and find out about the disease, known as DX. They also discover the disease is transferable to humans and could possibly bring on our own extinction.

The IMDb have posted the possible synopsis to Jurassic Park 4. The following is still unconfirmed so could turn out to be false

Come on! A disease threatens the dinosaurs and humanity! Gimme a break! JP4's story had better be more interesting than that.

Nobody cares about a prehistoric disease!

The decease wouldn't work as a big threat to humans. Remember, in the book Malcolm told Levine that it would only cause slight brain fiever, which isn't really that life threatening. But it could work better as a thing that will ultimately finish off the dinosaurs and bring the trilogy to a close.

After the destruction of Isla Sorna John Hammond thinks that the chaos is over, but just as things start to settle down suddenly there are numerous reports of entire fishing boats disappearing off the coast of Costa Rica, worried he secretly comes forward with information that he illegally bred dinosaurs on a third and fourth island and was planning to build a second park for aquatic animals on a fifth island, so he sends 2 teams to observe the islands to see if the dinosaurs are getting off the islands, after he finds out that two children accompanied there parents on the trip he and a third team to go after the children, not knowing that the two teams have been victims of numerous dinosaur attacks that left one 19 year old boy and the 2 children sole survivors, Hammond searches the surrounding waters while the children try to survive on one of the dinosaur infested islands.
