This thread should be in the Entertainment forum.
As for the film, it can go both ways. I have faith in it since it's Spielberg and Cruise (I loved Minority Report) and so far the only thing that's teased me is the poster, the trailer didn't do much for me.
I just hope they don't Americanize the story too much.

Also, it's written by David Koepp. (Jurassic Park,JP:The Lost World, Mission Impossible, Panic Room)

Koepp also directed Secret Window... *cough*crap*cough*
Mission: Impossible wasn't good either, the only thing I liked about that was the train sequence and the infamous wire-stunts.

I started to like Secret Window, but by the end I didn't like it. I mean, it was enjoyable as a popcorn movie, which is always good, unless that involves taking a franchise and making it lame .. which it didn't. I haven't read King's Secret Window, but I don't the people who have wnet onto imdb or something of the sort and had a holiday. I'm not saying Keopp's bad, I'm just saying hearing his name doesn't make me especially interested.
And the hetero-lifemate thing going on between Speilberg and Tom Cruise and them both being involved seems .. meh, I dunno, I pray he's not the 'ole "Average Joe or maybe not so average joe who knows the weakness and or way to defeat the aliens yet the people in power over him dismiss his theories and or ideas so he decides to take the aliens on yet there's a female who believes in his ideas so she comes along aswell - love interest? Oh you bet!, followed by the average joe's comic relief friend and other folks .. or something along any of those lines"
Y'know, that ole' chestnut.
