Would you like it better than the final version of the film or less? Explains reasons why and include any scenes that were in the first draft that seemed worth while.
I am referring to this draft:

What if JP was more like the first script draft?
I woudl say it would be better, esp. for us JP fans. Some of my favorite parts of the book are hardly even close to being mentioned in the movies. Example: Muldoon/Gennaro getting chased in the field by the T-Rex, river chase including the dilo's on the shore (That would be a scary part!!), ect... too many to list.

I had read the first draft of the JP script and OMG, it was almost just like the book! They had a ton of the scenes from the book, like SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK!!!!!! Dr. Henry Wu getting killed by the raptors near the building. Hammond is left behind and much more, there were some elements that I definetly prefer in the already made 'JP' film that weren't in the first draft.

if they had left in all the things from the book, it would have been a much darker movie, maybe even being a horror movie and probably rated R. on top of that, it would've been like 4 hours long /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
one thing i thought was weird was that they combined the original Tim and Lex into one person (Lex), and then for Tim they just made him into a kid who knows quite a bit about Paleontology and is a fan of Dr. Grant
( in the book Tim was a computer wiz and Lex was the younger sister who liked baseball )

You want to say in the movie?SSJDinoTycoon42 wrote:one thing i thought was weird was that they combined the original Tim and Lex into one person (Lex), and then for Tim they just made him into a kid who knows quite a bit about Paleontology and is a fan of Dr. Grant
If Spielberg decided to put the characters in this way, it is that it found that Ariana Richards played so much well (particularly for the howls /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ), that it decided to interchange the characters. It also added in Lex, because of it's more advanced age, an interest for Grant.

howls=cries
interest for Grant=a small love before-the-adolescence for Grant (indicated in the Making of book)
If I understand what you say, I respond that Spielberg put Tim younger than Lex, instead of the opposite of the novel. That doesn't have any relationship with the way in which the casting was done.
