My goodness, it's shocking how much everyone here has grown. Where does the time go, huh? I myself am in my final years of highschool. I apologize for not having majors or a career to contribute to the topic with, but....like I said, not quite a college student yet.
Kudos to Samfan, though. I actually had planned to take the same path as far as school beyond high school goes. I have the brains to do all kinds of amazing mathful and scientific work, but I heart art too much to go down that road. I'm talented in multiple areas(I don't just draw comics anymore, though that's still my preference) and I'm sticking with my advanced art classes now. I'd like to get into Animation. I also intend to try my hand at some film classes now, because those look to be fun and I have all kinds of imagination. I think I enjoy it enough for it all to be worth it in the end.
rextheovermind is a palaentologist, what are you?

Hey No1, long time no see! If you really feel you want to pursue the art world, then go for it... Expand your art qualities as much as possible- in drawing, painting and other specifics--the more you can do, the better your chances are in succeeding in art school. It's not exactly an easy career and you shouldn't quit your day job if you have one, but if your heart is set for that field then that's all that matters. A lot of people make a good living monetary wise with other more successful careers but that doesn't mean they're really happy with their 9 to 5.no1important wrote:Kudos to Samfan, though. Film classes are fun but just remember that filmmaking is just as much business as it is an artform. And it can get very complicated. But someone can give you all the advice in the world but you just have to try it yourself... that's the only way you'll find out if this is what you really want. Good luck with everything!

LOL! Ms. DNA, I know the feeling all too well-- esp. when I was majoring in art. It's just one of those occupations that everyone automatically thinks you'll be a teacher for. [/quote]Samfan wrote:I'm currently living my dream... since I was 11 (after seeing JP) I wanted to be a filmmaker. Took some film classes while in high school, then went to study at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Since I really enjoyed art as well, I majored in it. I also sell a lot of my works, so if you're interested in hanging some artwork in your law office-- you know who to call /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> LOL! Now I'm off to the University of Southern California to get my Masters in Fine Arts-- Film Production.
Love my film and love my art... but because of that I'll die broke and you won't... LOL!
