Honestly, I think that's a bad idea. If you try ask the fans for advice on JP4 everyone is going to be shouting for something different, and they won't be able to satisfy every single fans wishes. Which is exactly why Universal won't do it, it would be a waste of time.Garfielosaurus_rex wrote:I agree with Dino_Slayer and Matt. If only Universal would take the time to visit JP sites to have the point of view of the fans... But it would be necessary that Universal thinks of making good movies than make quick profits (JP3, coming JP Adventure Pack).

That's horrible! You can't listen to fans!Garfielosaurus_rex wrote:I agree with Dino_Slayer and Matt. If only Universal would take the time to visit JP sites to have the point of view of the fans... And when I think that the fans can make better fan-fictions than those of some writers...
The greatest movies are not those made to cater the public, but those to cater the makers.
That's why so many sequals suck.

Well it's not great to listen to the fans when they can't even agree amongst themselves. Basically, the only thing we JP fans can agree on is to "not make it like JP3." that's about it.
Let's just suppose there was a majority agreement on what JP fans want to see in JP4. The top 5 would probably be: 1. T-Rex is in, spino's out.,2. Grant and Ian return, 3. Isla Nublar is used as setting, 4. Use what little is left of the novels, and 5. Ellie and Grant start their relationship over. Now what do you get when you combine all that? A film that's identical to the original Jurassic Park.
Sure, fan input is important, but I think it is important for a writer to have the freedom to take his/her own spin on a story. As long as they actually have passion for the work.

you've got a point about the similarities to the original. if they did do that, the story would have to be pretty good in order to make it original. but instead of BEING exactly the same, it would have that familiar feel. bringing back the feel of the original would be a good way to bring the series full circle, and end it. thus preventing money making sequels of it in the future. just an opinion.
but i agree about the writer taking it into his/her own hands and creating a new idea(or something). and if they have a passion for writing a JP script, they should know a lot about it.

That's a reason why bring back David Koepp to write the script is bad. I don't thinks that he wants to return in the JP universe again. We need a writer, as you said, who know the subject, who have the passion for this. But who have crazy ideas, not to denature the spirit of the saga.
But when I said "listen the point of vue of the fans", it's for a very small part of the script production, and for the general opinion. God, you're all right when you say that a JP "created" by the fans will be horrible.
Alan: Check everybody, a T-rex vs. Spinosaur battle! WHOA! THE REX WINS! But... They have Spinos on Nublar! Hey, a river... and a dinghy!
Ian: Hurry! A juvenile T-rex is coming! The chaos continues!
Sarah: Oh no! I'm sick of that!
Ugh.
