Reasons its not going to work...

1. Jurassic Park at this point in time is dead, no new news for some time, at least hard concrete decent news.

2. There are already about 7 primary jurassic Park sites on the internet, those will be the most hit up sites. Think of walmart moving into a town that is run mostly by small shops.

3. If being on staff is the only way to attract members to your site then you fail at marketing.

4. I don't really care about Jurassic Par, don't ask, I know its odd I hang out here, help Jon out, and do all sorts of stuff and I don't even really like Jurassic Park. I haven't even seen the third one, I finally saw the second one a few months ago.

5. In order to create a well populated site you need to start your site at the begining of or within a few months of the release of what your site is about, that way people will go out and see the movie, then search the internet for information and stumble upon your site

6. You need a good concrete source of news, and other strategies to make people want to join, or view your site. And keep it updated.

Yes, well thanks a lot for your concern, alienp, and I really appreciate it, but I'm still not going to give up. I'm pretty determined. Thanks anyway!

out of all the crap AP said, I just heard "Blahblahblah, I'm a dirty whore." /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> j/k man.
And, Jon, think you could set up some sort of "Advertise your site here" forum or something?

Post count is irrelevant. Content is everything.

Well... I'm rather new here, but there is one... isn't there? the 'forum host' board? But when I click on that, it just explains thath there are no threads in there. maybe we should put that board into some use...

It will kill you if you see it. Sorry I just have to bash JP3 *hits Jack Horner on the head with a hammer* but yeah, good on you for not watching it. And yeah, PEOPLE STOP MAKING POINTLESS JP FORUMS! ITS NOT LIKE THE MAIN,GOOD ONES ARE VERY ACTIVE, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOUR LIL SH!TTY ONE IS GONNA MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Sorry about that, I just keep seeing people say "I made these new JP forum on proboards, please join!" and it narks me off because well they are pointless. Make a good site to go with it, then maybe I will join your forum is what I say to all these peeps who make these silly, pointless Proboard forums. This is not an attack at you, but the way I keep seeing this all the time. Its as bad as newbies posting new threads about topics that have just been discussed or stuff. ARRRRRRRRR *goes on a killing rampage to cool off*

Well sorry to disappoint a lot of you, but you know it is a free world, and you aren't the bosses. So will you please just stop wasting your breathe and let people do what they want! Yeah, so what if maybe they are a bit crappy, but at least people make the effort! And I haven't seen a JP RP anywhere! That's why I made one! You guys aren't the only people in the world you know. Other people might like them too. So can you just shut up!!!!

*sigh....more people reading replies the wrong way. you gotta calm down and read it more closely. the solution to hostility is to calm yourself down first. nobody is saying that they are the boss, nobody is telling you to shut your site down, nobody is saying that they are the only ones in the world.

if pay more attention to what he's saying, he makes a lot of sense. the popular JP forums are not very active. really, what is the point in trying to get people to go to yours instead of here? you definitely won't get as many members or as much activity as this site, that's for sure.

he's saying that it might get some interest if you make a site about JP to go with it. the same as how the .net goes with this forum.

there are tons of JP RP's out there. there are about 27+ on Yahoo! Groups.

on top of all this, you're talking down to the entire forum because of what one person said
