JPIV: Open Ending?

Post by crisco »

I beleive we are all hoping that JPIV is an epic story with a kick-ass ending. Some of us want the islands bombed, and some of us don't. Should JPIV have an open ending? EX: Isla Sorna (desert facility w/e) is bombed and our heroes are in a copter (like the first) making their way to safety. (Now here's what I mean): Should the camera cut to Nublar or Sorna to show the dinos thriving in the jungle? Consider that the odds are against a JPV. Post your opinions!

As has been stated many, many times, there are no islands in the movie.
But i think it will have a man from Biosyn walk away from the camera with a canister, that has the Jurassic Park DNA.

Yea, Im still hoping that it DOES take place on an island, but the location doesn't really matter about my poll. I hope that they DO show the dinos thriving on the islands, and that they DO NOT destroy them. If the rumor is true and there is a compound or place on the mainland where the dinos live then i do not care if they die. But I think Malcolm or Hammond should have a little speech at the end while we see a plain of herbivores grazing. If this is going to be the last JP they better make me satisfied. =)

Obviously we cannot stress that THE FILM WILL NOT TAKE PLACE ON AN ISLAND enough to get it through some of you guys' heads.

You may get the last few minutes with the islands being bombed off. BUT the dinos will survive in a DNA cainster.

You cannot kill off a story - a good ending would be knowing that the dinos are still around in a DNA can.

i'd rather have at least one of the islands left alone for the animals, the can idea is too vague and gives people the wrong idea, : that there will be a JPV, if they show one of the islands at the end i want Malcolm to give a little speech about how life cannot be contained etc. and show the dino herds in a valley or plain to show one last final beautiful shot of the dinos

WTF are you talking about? You did watch Jurassic Park, right? Did you read the novel as well? Here is a scene from the JP script:

SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA

Nedry looks up and sees a man get out of a taxi - - LEWIS
(Louis) DODGSON, fiftyish, wearing a large straw hat and looking almost
too much like an American tourist. Dodgson clutches as attaché case
close to him and scans the cafe furtively.
Nedry laughs, shakes his head, and waves to him.

NEDRY
Dodgson!

Dodgson hurries over to the table.

DODGSON
(as he sites)
You shouldn't use my name.

NEDRY
Dodgson, Dodgson.
(loud)
We got Dodgson here! See, nobody cares. Nice hat.
What are you trying to look like, a secret agent?

Dodgson ignores that, sets his attaché case down next to the
table, and slides it towards Nedry,

DODGSON
Seven fifty.

Nedry smiles and pulls the attaché closer to him.

DODGSON (cont'd)
On delivery, fifty thousand more for ever viable embryo.
That's one point five million. If you get all fifteen
species off the island.

NEDRY
Oh, I'll get 'em all.

DODGSON
Remember - - viable embryos. They're no use to us if
they don't survive.

NEDRY
How am I supposed to transport them?

Dodgson pulls an ordinary can of shaving cream from a shoulder
bag he carries and sets it on the table.

DODGSON
The bottom screws open; it's cooled and
compartmentalized inside. They can even check it if
they want. Press the top.

Nedry presses the top of the can and real shaving cream comes
out. He grins, impressed. While Dodgson talks, Nedry looks around for
somewhere to wipe the shaving cream and ends up dumping it on top of
someone's Jell-O on a dessert tray next to him.

DODGSON (cont'd)
There's enough coolant gas for thirty-six hours.

Nedry looks at the can.

NEDRY
What? No menthol?

DODGSON
Mr Nedry, Mr Nedry. The embryos have to be back here
in San Jose by then.

NEDRY
That's up to your guy on the boat. Seven o'clock
tomorrow night, at the east dock. Make sure he got it
right.

DODGSON
I was wondering, how are you planning to beat the
security?

NEDRY
I got an eighteen minute window. Eighteen minutes, and
your company catches up on ten years of research.

A WAITER arrives and puts the check down on the table, between
them. Nedry looks down at it pointedly, then up at Dodgson.

NEDRY (cont'd)
Don't get cheep on me Dodgson.

Dodgson rolls his eyes and picks up the check.

NEDRY (cont'd)
That was Hammond's mistake.

- - -
So according to this the DNA embryos would die after they run out of coolant which is in 36 HOURS! So there is no way possible that JP4 will have anything to do with the lost DNA samples

I didn't say it would be that sample did I?

The dinosaurs will some how be exported to the land by scientists. They can take their DNA from the dinos and then freeze them - it's not like i'm on about the one from JP1.

I still say your idea is the worst idea in the long history of bad ideas. There is no way to make it work. All the dinosaur DNA embryos were destroyed.

When were they destroyed? Huh? Let's see - you can get DNA from ANY living creature, just by scraping their skin with an ear bud.

The scientists can get Dino DNA by taking blood out of a dinosaur. I advise you to think before you reply back.

Obivously, when they're going to export the dinos, they're going to get a blood sample. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't get a sample from the T-rex in JP2.
