/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> I just though quite recently that the JP dinos have present day animal DNA filling in their gene sequence gaps, right? Then what if they used a different DNA than frog DNA to fill in the gaps?!? Then the JP3 raptos must have bird DNA filling in their gene sequence and they only live in a certain part of the island away from the Tiger Raptors! And perhaps InGen experimented with different types of animals' DNA to fill in the gaps (bird, reptile, and perhaps even mammals?).

Umm .... no, that's not it at all. I swear, no one on this site has watched the making-of featurette on the JP3 DVD. Put in your JP3 DVD, and watch "The Making of Jurassic Park 3", Stan Winston and Jack Horner explain their drastic design changes. It has nothing to do with what you're talking about.

It must have been a different tribe, theres no other logical explanation.
Oh yes there is. On "The making of JP3" Jack Horner and Stan Winston explain that the enlargened snout crests, and feathers were added because of new scientific evidence about the velociraptors. The new color schemes were added to make them stand out even more.

The reason they are different is because more scientific evidence has been found that some dinsaurs may have had feathers. More complete raptor skulls have also been discovered showing a difference in shape than to what was previously thought. And as for the color scheme, they changed the colors between JP and TLW and no one ever complains about that, so who cares? They just wanted them to stand out more and be different.(Dino_Slayer Posted on 07.21.2004 07:39)

I would hope nobody really thinks the explanation of it as a film is wrong, but we're talking about suspension of disbelief here. The best in-story explanation is that they were a different version, hence the new tribe we get to see. It wouldn't be logical to the universe itself for the raptors to have this new look and say that the raptors in the other films didn't exist such as they are. Really, most of us know why the film-makers did it, but explaining it in such a way that the films maintain continuity is another matter.
"You sharpen the human appetite to the point where it can split atoms with its desire; you build egos the size of cathedrals; fiber-optically connect the world to every eager impulse; grease even the dullest dreams with these dollar-green, gold-plated fantasies, until every human becomes an aspiring emperor, becomes his own God... and where can you go from there?" "And as we're straddling from one deal to the next, who's got his eye on the planet, as the air thickens, the water sours, and even the bees' honey takes on the metallic taste of radioactivity? And it just keeps coming, faster and faster. There's no chance to think, to prepare; it's buy futures, sell futures, when there is no future." - John Milton

Are you even paying attention? Read my post again. What you posted doesn't maintain film continuity, which is...I don't know...the whole point of everything I had typed! Where the hell you got the idea that I said something about different universes in relation to my post is beyond me. I thought I made it pretty clear what I thought on this matter.
For the record, again: I said the new raptors are a different version, and therefore had their DNA, developement, etc, manipulated in a way somewhat different from the other raptors. How else can the films maintain continuity and explain the differences?

How can you explain Grant seeing a feathered Raptor in his dream when he had never even seen one before? The ones in JP1 surely DIDNT LOOK LIKE THAT.I mean, you cant go changing the dinosaurs too much and making the original Raptors seem irrelevant and non existant only because theres new scientific evidence. It's a movie, for gods sake! The dinosaurs can never be accurate enough in a Jurassic Park film, even though that idiot Horner thinks so.How is it that the T-rex was weak enough to fail biting through the Spinosaurs neck when we know that it was the strongest land carnivore ever imaginable? Why did the Pteranodons have teeth, when we surely know that the real Pteras never had them(dont even tell me about the makers wanting to make them scarier because that isnt what you call accuracy)? These people say their accurate, when they infact arent. You know what I think? These dinosaurs should have never been changed from their TLW looks because they arent real dinosaurs, just Jurassic Park dinosaurs that the audience used to enjoy, right before this accuracy cr@p that just spoils their coolness and destroys the memory of the original film.Yes,Raptors may have had feathers but do the ones in Jurassic Park seriously need to change that much, attleast without an REAL explanation inside the movie universe?
Great!Just great! So Grant finds out that the dinosaurs are manipulated and changed constantly by some guy named Jack Horner in another universe where the whole story of Jurassic Park is just a bunch of movies based on scientific evidence.Thats a great explanation! /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
