we should probably just list pros and cons for each and see whos got the advantage

Predator
pros
-invisible stealth mode
-blades
-infared vision
-fast

Cons
-a bit bulky
-thin armor
-blades not acid resistant
-not as fast as aliens

Aliens

Pros
-can blend into darkness
-acid shoots from tail
-acidic blood
-very fast

cons
-not many means of defense
-not very strong
can be seen my infared sensors

Eh ... I'm betting that the humans end up having to work with the predators to defeat the aliens because the aliens have such great strength in numbers. Also, the Predators are considered the lesser of 2 evils in this situation because they are hunters that will only kill for the thrill of the hunt, while the Aliens are just a bunch of drones whose only goal is to multiply and dominate a territory. So chances are, in a desperate situation that Predators can be reasoned with and would work with humans in order to survive an alien onslaught.

It has a plot wise-guy. I don't like much of Paul W.S. Anderson's work, but I do think that he put alot of effort into this film. He said in many interviews that he is a huge fan of both franchises and that he had spent nearly ten years developing the script for AVP. So for someone to spend so much time thinking out one film it should be able to deliver what the fans are hoping for.
