Ok, time to say who your favourite composer is.

So, without being biased, I have to say that it goes to John Powell for me. With his excellent scores for The Bourne series, Face/Off, The Italian Job, etc.

Of course, John Williams was close, as was David Arnold, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Moriconne, John Barry, among others.

Now, your choice -

My favorite movie composer is Danny Elfman. I love the music he created for Batman. It's haunting, but at the same time it's heroic; it was a perfect fit for the character. Also, Danny has alot of range as a composer. Some other films and T.V. shows he has composed are: MIB, Edward Scissorhands, Spider-Man, The Simpsons, and Dick Tracy.

John Williams is a close 2nd. for me too. Other movie composers I like are: Jerry Goldsmith, James Newton Howard, and Alan Silvestri.

John Williams for his work on the JP and Star Wars scores.

Well here i come /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

My fav composer is John Williams (for ovious reasons)

Second: Michael Giacchino

Then Jerry Goldsmith, John Barry, Alan Silvestry...

I must mention the great soundtrack from Operation Genesis by Stephan Schulze /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

(regarding this one, i suppose no one unreleased/unused tracks from this right? There was a gorgeus orchestraion of the JP adventure theme in one of the earlier trailers, the one that had rough effects, a trike attracking a car, a vet helicopter, a rex breaking a uber high security fence...)

I'm not saying Williams is rubbish or anything, but I feel his Star Wars theme is simply too overated. It's an Ok theme, but I feel it has been used too much now and feels old.

Oh yes of course, too many to name, best probably for me being Jp, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Catch Me if You Can.

But John Williams is excellent, and for someone to say that statment is false then they should go back to listening to their Crazy Frog theme.

Well I like most all of them. One of my personal favorites is currently Howard Shore, his score for the LOTR Trilogy is one of the most beautiful ever written. But they all have their moments. Other honorables are Ko Otani, Akira Ifukube, Masaru Sato, and Eric Sera. I personally think the JP score is probably one of Williams' weakest.

Oh, John's done plenty of weaker themes than the JP sound track. Like: Minority Report, The Terminal, War of The Worlds, Star Wars Episode III (He got pretty lazy on that one), and basically, every single score he's done in the past decade. They're not bad scores mind you, he just didn't make memorable theme music for them. If you ask me, the JP theme was his last memorable score.
