The good news for superproducer Frank Marshall is that he has two high-profile franchises at his disposal, and they both will likely make the increasingly common jump from trilogy to four-part series. The bad news is that he faces fan inquiries about them every day. " 'Jurassic Park 4' is coming to life," he proudly reported. "There's a script, we're getting a director and we're going to get going probably toward the end of this year." Referring to the director of "Park 3," Marshall added that "Joe Johnston could be back. We want to get the script right before we go forward, which is exactly what's [happening with what]
Joe Johnston could be back says Frank Marshall!

Well that's just prime. I wouldn't mind Johnston coming back for an encore. However, I feel it it highly unlikely that he will come back.Oviraptor wrote:The good news for superproducer Frank Marshall is that he has two high-profile franchises at his disposal, and they both will likely make the increasingly common jump from trilogy to four-part series. I really have to wonder what the script is going to be like. What the hell in god's name can they pull out of Jurassic Park at this point? Will they ultimately go back to the roots and start from the beginning?

I, too, doubt Johnston will be back. He seemed pretty adament when he announced he wasn't planning on doing another one, if I recall. But hey, throw enough money at someone and they'll do anything. I'm not sure how I feel about Johnston, though. JPIII was my least favorite of the series, but my issues with it stem from the poor (in my opinion) plot, for which I would fault the writers over Johnston. Then again, he did give the green light when it came to beginning the shoot without a complete script. Apparently JPIV's script is at least near its final form, so perhaps Johnston's second attempt will be superior.
But in all honesty, I want a fresh face for a fresh JP experience.

Actually Johnston did not give the green light for it. The duty for such an act falls upon the executive director. They say what goes in the film and has the final say over the final cut (not to sound redundant in my word usage). Now, I ask you, who was the executive director?
